Life Church

What to expect

It may be that you have never been to church before; or it’s your first time here. If so, you are particularly welcome. We seek to present the Christian message in a language that everyone can understand and to make our meetings accessible to all, no matter how little experience of church you might have.

What happens on Sunday mornings?

On Sunday mornings we get together as a whole church at 10:30am at our Frederick Street base in Wigston.

On arrival and also part way through the service there’s free tea and coffee and the chance to make new friends or catch up with old ones. During the meeting there’s great worship (with a band playing and singing) and a down-to-earth message from the Bible. We normally provide an opportunity for people to be prayed for and to respond to what God is saying to them.

The meeting generally finishes at about 12:15pm. The church leaders are always available before and after the meeting if you have any questions or would like help with anything.

How do I get there?

Click here to see details of how to find us. There is free parking at all the car parks surrounding the church.

Do I need any money with me?

No. Parking is free. It’s free to get in. The refreshments are free. We hope you’re picking up on this ‘free’ thing! An offering is taken part way through the meeting but this is primarily for people who are committed members of the church so please don’t feel under pressure to give. The church is a registered charity and all money given is used to fulfil our charity objectives.

What do I do when I arrive?

Chill. Our welcome team will do their best to make you feel at home. Help yourself to free tea or coffee and a biscuit or two. The meeting starts at 10:30am.

Will I stick out like a sore thumb?

No. At Life Church we are from all walks of life. We’re friendly and down-to-earth. And there are many people who are relatively new to church.

It’s all pretty relaxed and informal so you don’t need to worry about dressing or acting a certain way. Whether you want to sit quietly, or fully participate in everything that’s going on – that’s fine by us.

What about my kids?

No problem – kids have a great time at Life Church! They are generally together with the adults for the first 45 minutes or so of the meeting. But if you have younger children feel free to take them out the back, where we have toys and games and we’ll do our best to help keep them occupied. For the second half of the meeting the kids go out to the back rooms of the church for Life Kids  – groups especially for their age group where they can learn about God and the bible in a fun and dynamic way. We have plenty of drinks and snacks avaliable for kids too throughout the meeting.
