Meet Amber

After some unfortunate events in my life, I left the city to go to university and live my way, my timing, with my rules. I was a typical student on the outside. But I faced many MANY issues on the inside.

My past and present troubles took their toll on me and the cracks were beginning to show – something I had tried so hard to cover over and avoid for so long.

​

I was fed up of being fed up!

​

As hopeless as I felt, I knew I must be here for a reason and there just HAD to be more. I desperately needed that ‘more’.

​

Looking back now, I can see that the entire time the Lord Jesus was knocking on the door of my heart. He wanted to lift my burdens, and I didn’t even know Him – yet! It’s hard to comprehend that the living God never, ever, forgot about me. He was ALWAYS there, through what seemed like a never-ending battle. Even when I couldn’t perceive Him.

In the end I responded to the pull of His love, initially shown to me through other Life Church members. I finally let my guard down and gave my life to Jesus at Life Church in October 2016. I haven’t looked back since. He has completely changed my life. I am now married to an amazing man Jacob and have a wonderful son. I cannot believe how much God has turned my life around.

He is my healer, my confidant, my redeemer, and I do not know who I would be without Him. For so long, I wanted to be in a family. I longed to be cared about, and the Lord has blessed me with exactly that. At times it’s totally overwhelming. He does and always will “leave the ninety-nine to reach the one" - you!

“There once was a shepherd with a hundred lambs, but one of his lambs wandered away and was lost. So the shepherd left the ninety-nine lambs out in the open field and searched in the wilderness for that one lost lamb. He didn’t stop until he finally found it. With exuberant joy he raised it up and placed it on his shoulders, carrying it back with cheerful delight! Returning home, he called all his friends and neighbours together and said, ‘Let’s have a party! Come and celebrate with me the return of my lost lamb.
