At Life Church, we care passionately about supporting people to develop, as we grow whole-hearted followers of Jesus and release people in their gifting, ministry and mission.
One way we do this is through Life Church Academy. This is our in-depth theological training programme that helps people to grow in their faith and knowledge of God, His Word (the Bible) and world in which we live.
With 10 teaching sessions and 5 reflection and discussion sessions over the year, we aim to build up ‘thoughtful and active theologians’ - people who think about what they believe and why and how they apply this to the world around them.

The Academy runs on Thursday evenings, with one or two sessions per month. Teaching is provided by members of Life Church, with some additional external expert teachers.
The content will be interactive and engaging whilst also being stretching and challenging at times!
Session topics will include:

What is theology and why does it matter?

How to think theologically

How to read the Old and New Testaments

The character of God
-
Who is Jesus?
-
What does it mean to be saved?

What is the Church and what does it mean to be Pentecostal?

How do we understand today’s culture?
As part of the Academy, you will belong to a community of learners committed to learning and growing together during the year. During the 5 discussion and reflection sessions, you will share with each other what you are learning and how this is helping you grow.
If you are committed to growing as a whole-hearted follower of Jesus, then the Academy is for you! The key is commitment to the course, your own growth, and the growth of those you study with. We encourage learners to be involved in this on top of, rather than instead of Life Groups to help you put this into practice. We also encourage commitment to the full programme, rather than attending just some of the sessions.
