As we Reach, Raise and Release whole-hearted followers of Jesus Christ, we are committed to seeing everyone who connects with Life Church grow in knowledge of Jesus and faith, whatever age or background and wherever you are in your relationship with Jesus and journey of faith.
Jesus invites us to follow him to a transformed life: real life to the full. A life where we know God who is the creator of everything, is revealed in his name “I am,” and is understood through the Christian faith. We are invited to get to know Jesus, to be his disciples - his apprentices - and to make new apprentices through God living in us by the Holy Spirit. This is an ongoing process of what we call ‘discipleship’.
Our discipleship framework outlines what we believe discipleship and growth in faith and Christ often looks like, and how individuals and the church support this growth in their own lives and the lives of others. This framework has been developed to help us all view and review how what we do individually and together as a church is supporting us and all who are part of this family to grow in faith and in Jesus.
Our discipleship framework draws on work by a range of people who have thought about, explored and written about journeys of growth in faith* and provides an overview of what discipleship, or apprenticeship, often looks like and outlines:
-
What many people’s journeys of faith look like,
-
What you might do or get involved in to grow
-
What we do as Life Church to support you on this journey, and
-
What you might do or get involved in to support others
This helps us consider what we do as a church, but also helps you see what you can do to grow and to support others.
